Man Killed In Downtown Atlantic City Shooting

An Atlantic City man was shot and killed downtown about two blocks from the boardwalk in the city's Ducktown section, authorities said.

City police responded to a 911 call about a shooting on South Florida Avenue at around 5:58 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced the details in a news release on Friday, Mar. 1.

They found a 37-year-old man identified by the initials "H.C." with gunshot wounds at 26 South Florida Avenue. H.C. was pronounced dead at the scene and his official cause of death was pending.

The county prosecutor's office is helping Atlantic City police with the investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting should call the county prosecutor's office at 609-909-7666 or file an anonymous tip online at ACPO.tips.
